Once again, Diana Carey has thrown her impressionistic painting, splattering the Rebecca Molayem Gallery with the essence of Southern California landscapes. Each painting slowly materializes through numerous layers of paint that is applied with gestural technique of throwing a stream of paint off the end of a stick or splashing it from a paint brush. The idea is to portray the essence of the subject matter, not realism. Paintings can take anywhere from weeks to years to be completed.
